Things I will always die for thanks to the Japanese influence in Hawaii:
Li Hing Mui on fresh fruit, died fruit, candy... (just about anything)Deluxe Shave Ice with vanilla ice-cream and azuki bean All sweet mochi (lilikoi in particular)- the flame warmed seaweed flavored variety I tried in japan just didn't carry over. Ramune- It can be found in the US!and those little cookie panda bears filled with chocolate...If you ever visit anywhere in Hawaii make sure to check out the old seed shops that bring together the best snacks from the plantation days!

I'm more of a spicy fish eggs or ume plum kinda snacker. I'll eat any junk food seasoned with mentaiko (fish eggs) and ume. My favorite is the ume flavored pocky sticks.

I have to confess to a deep, twisted love for these squid mayonnaise chips. Actually, they're more like flat sheets, and you break off pieces. They taste just like a fish burger. I think that might be the most unappetizing description I've ever written, but believe me, they are might fine beer snacks.
