I'd be happy to share some choice phrases with you sometime. Chileans are usually quite reserved, at least from where I sit, but people can really get the scream going during spinning. At least they don't say "no pain, no gain," but that may just be because it doesn't really rhyme in Spanish. and in case anyone was wondering the stress pattern is: a-cel-ER-a! RE: the gym banter. Kiwis are much too shy for that kind of thing. Even if you get a someone to work out a programme for you they'll say things like, "You could do it this way if you want.", or "Maybe you could try more weight.". Don't be fooled, people do go for the burn, but in a quiet, don't get in anyone else's space kind of way. Maybe I'll try a bit of S. Am. passion next time I'm in a gym just as a social experiment.
