Matador’s Tokyo expert, Abram Plaut, was raised in San Francisco, but has called Japan home for the past five years.

In that time, he’s developed some serious skills “in the ways of Japanese sake, ramen, and peddling limited edition goods on ebay.”

He’s also put together a portfolio of photographs that document daily life in Tokyo–from the mundane to the just plain bizarre.

The photos are presented together in this video, which represent his five years in Japan…in three minutes:
