Doree Simon is a creative producer, director, writer and insatiable traveler. Her passion lies in connecting people: strengthening communities around the world and impassioning others to get involved and think globally through storytelling and the power of media. After graduating from NYU’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study, Doree backpacked her way through five continents and began a career in documentary filmmaking. Though she primarily works on documentaries, she also produces scripted films, branded content, web videos, print campaigns and live events. Her work has been exhibited internationally and domestically, including at the Sundance and Tribeca Film Festivals, and some clients and collaborators include VICE Media, United Way, AT&T, the Alliance for Women in Media, and Marvel Entertainment. In 2014, she started Leaping Elephant Productions, a production company focused on creating original content about global issues, travel, and culture. When she’s not traveling, she splits her time between Brooklyn and her hometown of Pittsburgh. One day she hopes to write children’s books about her crazy cats and live the yogi beach bum life while being a hard-hitting journalist.
