Thanks. Thank you Ian. Thank you Laura. Thank you Mom. Thank you Cedric, Eva, Cam, Ekaterina and Jacob. Thank you Marilyn, Emily, Daniel and Guylaine.

Thanks to all of you – our wonderful, curious, loyal Brave New Travelers.

Your enthusiasm and support makes editing and publishing this scrappy online magazine a joy.

You encourage us with your comments and enlighten us with your contributions. As of yesterday, you answered our challenge and have lifted Brave New Traveler up over the magic mark of ONE THOUSAND RSS subscribers. Your enthusiasm and support makes editing and publishing this scrappy online magazine a joy.

This is just the beginning. We’ve got big plans. A few months ago Ian was doing a shot of vodka at 7 am to celebrate 100 subscribers. The video for the 1,000 mark ups the ante to include beer, whiskey, horrible singing and my (blacked out) jiggly bits.

10,000 can’t be far off. (Imagine what we’ll come up with for that celebratory video).

Keep spreading the word, Brave New Travelers! Let’s not stop here. We’re counting on you to tell your friends about this wicked cool little independent travel magazine that publishes such provocative, timely and funny articles.

Still not sure what RSS even means? Read this.

So, wherever you are in this tragic, lovely, fascinating world – keep in touch. Keep reading. Keep adding your voice to the community.

We’re building something beautiful, and it’s good to have you along for the ride.

Thanks to the following bloggers for posting about our RSS push

And I’m positive there were a couple more that did as well. If we missed you, send us an email and we’ll add you to this list.

That was funny! Ian, hope the hangover was worth it and that you do not have too much dog-hair in your mouth! But they say the hair of the dog prevents a hangover, let us know…
Tim, it is always better to have a few spectators when you skinny-dip. Besides it saves you from cycling across Patagonia, working up a sweat, and depleting camera batteries. And it is a lot more fun!
Laura, I want to see the karate thing!
When you hit 10 000, maybe a tripple naked skydive…
This way all the dingly-dangly bits can make a cool flap-flap- flap sound!
Cool video! Cool mag, and all the best for the future!

  • Eva

Congrats, Tim, Laura and Ian!! Enjoyed the video – although I’ve just gotten home from a late night, and watching Ian’s share of things made me feel a little queasy…

    Haha! That was great!

Congratulations! And what happened to the plan to drink the carrot juice, or I missed something on the way?

I loved especially the dog…He didn’t drink any whiskey, did he?

Ha-ha: great site and great peope are here!

That was hands-down the funniest video you guys have ever posted! Thanks for a great weekend laugh.

And congrats to the whole BNT crew on reaching the big 1K!

  • Daniel Harbecke

    Can’t… see…

    Gone blind… from startling… lack… of tan…

    OMG!!!! That was HILLARIOUS!!!

I was absolutely rolling on the floor. Awesome reading your feed! Here’s to 10,000!!!

  • Anna Brones

This video makes me SOO proud to be a BNT contributor! What a great team….. absolutely hilarious. What will 10,000 entail?

  • http://www.rucksackwanderer.com/ Tim Patterson

Thanks for all the good words everyone – glad people got a laugh out of our little video. And Daniel – I edit an online travel magazine. You really expected my ass to be tan?

What will we do for 10,000? I shudder to think. Anyone have suggestions?

  • Daniel Harbecke

    LOL

Tim, At least you’re someplace warm! I’m living in the Chicago ‘burbs. I’m so pasty I don’t have a shadow! The only thing on me resembling a tan line says “Fruit of the Loom!” I’m just giving you crap because I was out shovelling snow this morning… =)

I wrote Ian that at the rate you’re going, you’re going to be blowing yourselves up onstage. On the other hand, maybe a contest to come up with the best feat for 10,000? Serious inquiries only? Like, carrot juice on horseback?

    Congrats again, guys!

Thanks for all the congrats! And glad you liked the video. I think we’ve got some time before we hit 10,000 so we’re open to all ideas…

  • Emily Hansen

Whoo, whoo, whooo! That was me lifting a glass to you guys…since I don’t know how to say “congratualtions” in Turkish, as I am now in Istanbul for 6 months and have now just read the article about “culture shock”, yet again, hoping to find my feet….or just my head.

    Hi there,

Congrats! I’m pretty sure I am one of the 24 above 1000. I subscribed a few days [hours?] before this date because I missed reading your feed from planet.northernvoice.ca

pnv had many blogs in their feed, but I only subscribed directly to those I considered the best/my favourites

    Cheers,

    Al

P.S. If you are going this year, I’ll see you there!!

Woohoo! I know its late, but do you really expect us vagabums to do anything on time? :) congrats!
