Then you say sentences are longer here than elsewhere?

China&#039;s total prison population is 1.5 million against 2.4 million for the USA. And the USA has only a quarter of China&#039;s population. For China to jail people as efficiently as the USA, it would need 10 million behind bars. 

At all events, nobody beats the USA for total prison man/hours.
