The fact that the everyday stories, the human element, and, as Tim points out, the many different perspectives, after repeatedly overlooked in most journalist's desire to either a) gush about the glitz and glam, b) focus on the city-emirate's faults, and c) boast about its current economic woes, is incredibly frustrating for a writer who has lived in the city since 1998. Fortunately, as a writer/blogger, I have lots of opportunities to present other points of view.
