WELL TRAINED RESPONSE I MUST SAY FROM THE FRAUDULENT COMPANY PUEBLO INGLES.

DO NOT NOT NOT NOT EVER WORK FOR THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THEY PAY THE BIG BUCKS TO THE LADY THAT JUST TOLD YOU "DON'T WORRY, WE DO NOT JUDGE ANY APPLICATION"

ADVICE: IF THERE ARE FORUMS AND ENTIRE WEB PAGES BLASTING THIS COMPANY, TAKE NOTE, ITS BECAUSE SOMETHING IS VERY VERY VERY WRONG WITH THIS COMPANY AND DOES NOT TREAT THEIR EMPLOYEES WITH RESPECT OR EQUALITY.

THEY PAY THEIR "MANAGERS" TWICE WHAT THEY PAY THEIR ACTUAL LEADERS OF THE CAMP AND THESE "MANGAGERS" SIT AROUND AND DRINK COFFEE ALL DAY UNTIL THEY TELL YOU WHAT TO DO OR NOT DO.

ask to get paid.

you should be PAID for the WORK they are going to MAKE you do.

The food is crappy.

They don't pay on time anyways,

The organizers and directors probably don't even know whats going on.

You are a free English CLASS and a BABYSITTER.

Work with ANY OTHER CAMP EXCEPT THIS ONE. THERE ARE MANY OUT THERE THAT DO THE SAME THING BUT RESPECT YOU AS A PERSON. THESE PEOPLE DON'T KNOW THE MEANING OF THE WORD.

NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Its NOT really that great.
They SCAM you into "volubteering" so THE CROOKS don't have to PAY YOU the 350€ per week that they have to pay everyone else.

THis guy got SCAMMED by the most DISRESPECTFUL, UNORGANIZED and FRAUDULENT english-training companies in all of SPAIN.

I am an experienced and certified teacher and because of THEIR poor communication between their HIGHLY OVER PAID managers and program directors, I suffered a monetary LOSS.

I am NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS HAD AN ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE with "ENglish town".

Not only that, but it does more harm to you if you don't speak any spanish AT ALL, bc you're the one that returns to the SPANISH WORLD and YOU CANT SPEAK SPANISH!!!!
HA!

THIS IS ONE OF THOSE COMPANIES LIKE THE BIG BANKS AND THE POLITICIANS HERE THAT TRY TO KEEP ALL THE MONEY FOR THEMSELVES WITH THE HEAD DIRECTORS AND THEIR POOR HARDWORKING, EDUCATED AND TRAINED EMPLOYEES GET PAID LESS WAGES THAN A RESTAURANT WAITRESS.

SHAMEFUL COMPANY

THEIFS.......LADRONES

LIARS.......MENTIROSOS

Is it really that great? I found out about the program this morning, and I was really excited. I want to go next summer (2012) but I'm not sure. I've never been out of the country without my parents. We've been to Europe a couple of times and I know lots of Spanish (by then I'll be almost fluent). I'm still worried though.
Can we get volunteer hours for school? Do they take good care of you or do they just let you got independently once you get to La Alberca?

Hi Whitney,

I am the Anglo recruiter for Pueblo Ingles and will again address the post that you have mentioned. Here is my colleague's response to Martin's accusation that our organization is prejudice in our recruiting methods:

Hi Martin

I have just finished my fourth year recruiting volunteers for this program and I can assure you that no applicant has ever been judged by the sound of their name.

You will have both received an automated response email to confirm receipt of your applications. That message says you should expect a further response in UP TO two weeks time.

Anyone who has genuinely attended the program will testify to the care we take in getting the right group dynamic for every program of the year. It is vital to get a good mix of gender, ages, nationalities, professional backgrounds, accents and culture (that’s when the program is most interesting and the Spanish participants learn the most English). Hence availability varies depending on any given applicant’s profile and background.

I have checked and see that both of your applications were approved and you were booked in in less than 48 hours (a relatively fast response time because we get relatively few applicants of your profiles so it’s easier to find openings).

I’m saddened to see that we were being accused of prejudice in that small time period. We’re a small department dealing with hundreds of applications and emails every week. We compare candidates based on the extent to which they fulfill our volunteer suitability criteria outlined at http://www.morethanenglish.com/anglos/volunteers.asp

If a candidate ticks the boxes, we’ll look for an opening. But response time does vary, UP TO two weeks.

PS I appreciate that you may want to take my comments with a pinch of salt especially given as I work for Pueblo Ingles. That would probably be a wise move I reckon. Looking at some of the ridiculous (in my humble-internet-forum-opinion) comments further up this thread I’d recommend you do your own research.

If you have any direct questions regarindg your upcoming program, please contact us via email at anglos@puebloingles.com.

Best regards,

Jennifer Rogers Boizumault
Anglo Program Coordinator

I'm going to La Alberca in May. Someone mentioned above that an application may have taken longer to process because of an Arab sounding name. I was wondering if there might be any racism in the program. I'm African American and I'd hate to think some of the participants wouldn't like that.
