One day I hope to do a big hike like Kilimanjaro or Machu Picchu and now I will definitely make sure it&#039;s with a responsible company that treats its porters with respect.</description>

		<description>Great piece! I&#039;ve climbed lots of mountains and used porters more than a couple times on the bigger mountains like Kili and getting into base camp on Aconcagua. 

I&#039;ve seen them mistreated by the &quot;guides&quot; and by other climbers. It sucks. I think the best thing you can do on the mountain is treat them with respect and tip well. I&#039;m also very vocal when I see someone mistreated on the mountain. Whether it&#039;s another climber or their boss, getting called out on it will make an impression on the person and the porter will appreciate you standing up for him.</description>
