I’m actually going to volunteer at Calcutta Rescue starting tomorrow as an MPH student. Just finished a few days’ volunteer at Mother Theresa’s MC. Thank you for the great article-definitely appreciated. I’m so glad that I’m able to be here to learn.

My heartiest thanks to you all for such great effort to carry on in kolkata .Iam a student persuing English(hons) from St.Paul’s Cathedral Mission College,kolkata & i try my best ways to heal the mother earth iin all possible ways.I was the eco-club capition of Vidya Bhawan,New Delhi & had worked with eco concerning factors polybags,sustaniable use of resources,formation of eco clubs in various org.,environmental edu.,etc.So i am very interested to be an active member of your organisation

Beautiful post! I’m so digging your Urban Volunteering series!! Volunteering is an easy way to give back to communities where you’re traveling. These sound like great organizations to support in Calcutta. Really volunteering your time can be anything from 30 minutes to several weeks of time spent making a difference. Some of my best travel experiences have been acts of spontaneous volunteering.
