Stork, South Africa.
I almost always sketch on site, as it were – quick little scribbles while the subject is in front of me. Sometimes Bruce, my husband, gets a good close-up photo, in which case I may (and may not) re-sketch more carefully when I get home. I carry a post-card sized sketch pad with me, and a tiny set of water-colours with just one brush. And a biro. I tip a bit of water out of my canteen in to a tiny container at the side of the water-colour set. And then I try to quickly scribble, top-speed, whatever it is I have seen.
