Settling In
Well…my contributions to the Matador Community helped land me a dream job at a beautiful, tucked away resort ( one I failed to mention in my musings on the Idaho Panhandle). This summer I’m getting paid to take folks huckleberry picking, whitewater raftiing and mountain biking. In the winter it’ll be snowshoe treks, cross country skiing and day trips to some of my favorite downhill skiing spots. When I put my profile up here last winter I noted my status as “Puttin down roots.” Looks like that’s exactly what’s happening. Have an option to buy the mountain house I’m in at a bargain rate (thank you soft real esate market) and on many levels staying put for awhile is practical on many levels. So…passport on hiatus? Travel staus compromised for an undetermined amount of time? I’ll need it when I come back across the border from Alberta and British Columbia. My vagabond ways allow me to interact intelligently with visitors from around the globe. Life is good…so I’m thinkng I’ll live vicariously through ya’lls wanderings the next year or so. That okay?
P.S. I’ll post photos when I’m on my own computer…Using one at work on my break

I’ll hold you to that promise! And I’m still looking forward to working on Ernest with you!
We’re back from Colombia; now in Mexico City for a bit.

Ha, Julie beat me to it! Congrats, and looking forward to more Idaho updates from you on Matador…
FYI, re: Alberta and BC, not sure when you’re headed across the border but I believe the rule on land crossings was pushed back AGAIN, to Jan. 2009. I crossed in July with just a driver’s license and a birth certificate. So if you really do want to put your passport away for symbolic purposes…

Sure, that’s fine! But don’t forget to keep writing, too!
