lemons
It’s April and I’ve been trying to secure a grown up job since January. It has not happened. Such is life being a recent college graduate holding a degree in philosophy in this economy. So, I decided to leave my extremely cushy living conditions in LA to pack up for the open road. Like Paul Rudd’s character in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, “When life gives you lemons, say fuck the lemons and bail.”
So, that’s that I’m doing. I’ll be hitting up all my friends up and down the coast of California to recharge my batteries and adventure with my compadres. Because, I can do the same things I was doing in my cushy LA apartment on the road; namely applying for jobs and writing blogs.
I did however, pack everything I own in my car and am toting around with me. The question now is where do I go from here. I never really liked Los Angeles and I have an amazing group of friends in San Diego. But, my heart says live in San Francisco where I don’t regularly have to drive a car and ruminate in corporate fascism. San Francisco is also the better job market for me. Money is hard to come by, though I have all the inspiration in the world.
I don’t know where to go next but I do know that the Journey is the Destination.
Anyone have any feedback?

Having been a long time Santa Barbara resident, I’ve spent some time in San Diego myself . . . not much philosphizin’ going on down there . . . LA? . . . even less . . . If you’re givin’ yourself only three choices, San Francisco it is. I’ve lived there too, amazing city, environs . . .
