If you ever find your way to post-conflict northern Uganda, hit up the New Flavor restaurant in Kitgum, across from the soccer field on the main street. They serve up a mean ground nut sauce, which goes well with rice (minus the small stones they have at Mama Brown’s down the road) or sweet potatoes. Avoid the millet, as it often contains sand, and be sure to sit outside under the awning so you can enjoy the sights of NGO vehicles roaring past sleeping dogs and giggling schoolkids.
