Lost my Job
Well, I lost my job a week ago. I was pretty surprised, but I shouldn’t have been because I understood all along how volatile English Teaching positions can be and how little English teachers are valued right now. I was asked very forcefully to sign a cancellation of contract agreement, because I was sick too often last semester.
I’m on to Thailand now, to get a new visa. It’s stressful because I don’t have a lot of money, and it costs a lot It’s exciting because I love the country and I have the opportunity to visit it again, this time with my partner Emily. It’ll be her first time in the Land of Smiles.
If you’re an English Teacher, remember to plan ahead, and if you’re an English Teacher in Taiwan, remember to watch your back.
