I believe that life is about balance, adventure, and passion. I live every day focused on being the change I wish to see in the world (props, Gandhi), and doing whatever I can to leave it a better place than I came into it. Maybe I'm an idealist, but I'm passionate about my work and sometimes become overly engrossed in it. When you've seen what I've seen and been where I've been, there is just no excuse for sitting idly by. I work incredibly hard but do enjoy all that the world has to offer too. I'm an avid traveler and you'll only find me off the beaten path, immersing myself in the culture and the people wherever I go and I'll try almost anything once.

I enjoy practicing yoga, working out, traveling, reading, trying new restaurants, cooking (I'm a bit of a health nut and a foodie....no processed/junk food in my kitchen!), volunteering on projects I believe in, and most importantly, spending time with family and friends.

I recently moved back to DC to work for a nonprofit, after spending 3 months living in the Gaza Strip, missing electricity, interviewing people, working with a large INGO, dodging airstrikes, and writing about the experience. Still re-adjusting to "normal" life (whatever that is).

Favorite quotes to live by:

"Be the change you wish to see in the world..."

“Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.”
~ Dr. Seuss

"Peace is not something you wish for; it's something you make, something you do, something you are, and something you give away"
~ Robert Fulghum

"I am only one,
But still I am one.
I cannot do everything,
But still I can do something;
And because I cannot do everything
I will not refuse to do the something that I can do."
~ Edward Everett Hale
