After staying in the north of Holland for the first nineteen years of my life, I decided to move to the other side of the country after high school and ever since been travelling further and further. My first real solo trip, after many European trips with friends, was a two month Odyssee through the U.S. and Canada with the Greyhound as my only mean of transportation. The next year, I decided to test my faith in public transport (I don't have a drivers licence) even further by taking the bus through the Yukon and Alaska and taking a ferry back to the continental U.S. before setteling in Toronto for 6 months for an exchange program.

When I finished my Bachelor's degree later that year, I found that I was unsure what to study and not ready to start planning a life including a job, career and god forbid even a family. Instead, all I really wanted was to see more of the world and especially more mountains, a passion I have probably coming from the fact that I live in a country without a single mountain. So I decided not to go back to school, told my parents and instead took a full-time job at a fast food restaurant to save money. Now I am ready to start my low-budget adventure in South America! I plan to leave for at least 10 months, but that is about the only plan I have, let's just see what the road will bring me. I am ready for the adventure!
