A beautiful summer’s day. I decide not to see my hometown Munich like a native but like a tourist. Topmost aim: All tourist traps shall be gone round. In addition, I want to spend less money than a stranger who knows only Octoberfest and Hofbräuhaus. The mission turned out well. I saw the best known works of Andy Warhol, enjoyed the best skyview and discovered a hidden beer garden which is visited by Germany’s most well-known movie stars regularly.
The monkey tower
Munich´s cheapest skyview
A curious actor with his own museum
A mystic creature worth exploring
How to play soccer on a slanting field
Much beer and Oktoberfest for low-budget travellers
Take the stairway to heaven
Drinking beer without the tourist crowd
My low-cost-day in Munich ended after two beers and tasty tortellini. I´ve paid 33,80 Euros for all attractions. Compare this with a day on the Oktoberfest (approx. 100 Euro) or a stay in the Hofbräuhaus (1 Beer + Food = 30 Euro). During my research I found much more cheap and unknown attractions in my hometown. I´m sure I´ll do such a day again.
