Beng Mealea Temple in Cambodia
Almost everyone has heard about Angkor, Bayon and Ta Prohm – the wonderful temples located in the Angkor Wat complex in Siem Reap, Cambodia. But for us, the temples of Beng Mealea 40km east of Angkor Wat turned out to be the most impressive of them all during our travels in Siem Reap.
The closer the temple the stronger understanding of something breathtaking! Beng Mealea is striking from the first sign. It was not restored at all. The last mine was defused in 2007 year and this is not the best publicity for mass tourism. But the adventurers will be delighted. Read more

Isn’t that the case though, how a relatively small site is left unnoticed (and for no apparent reason)(other than the mines) . . . I found that true at Avesbury. Everyone else wants Stonehenge, while I had Avesbury all to myself. Happy Travels
