Those were some boringsom days of my summer vacation when I get a call from my Nepalese friend about a trip to Namche Bazaar free of cost, commonly known as gateway to Everest, it was like finding water in middle of Sahara, then I have a bag pack at took few bucks from my father and headed towards Katmandu from Delhi where I currently stay.
Traveling through India is always a wonderful breathtaking experience for everyone, I boarded a train from New Delhi to Gorakhpur within 14 hrs I reached there, and then bordering a taxi I went to Nepal. Nepal has always fascinated me and my inner poet, its beautiful mountains, hill slopes and thrilling mountain roads they are awesome then the boring city life where you have nothing to do rather then watching TV and surfing net .Luckily I got a last plane from Bhairahawa to Katmandu due to lack of time, otherwise I prefer bus over plane while traveling in Nepal. Late at around seven I reach Katmandu, city of temples. This City is a home of god in itself, Hindus are very soulful and religious they do spent there most spare time in religious possessions then all other peoples. Finally I met my friend there in Airport; trip was delayed for one day so due the common strike that happens due of political instability in Nepal. So we bordered taxi to friend’s room. I was tired due of busy schedule all round two days so I want to have a long, good nap. It was late in morning when I finally woke up to my consciousness, then after a short of morning works we planned to visit our client with whom we were going to Namche .On the way back to room we visited Paten Durbar square, its one of the capital of ancient kingdom of Katmandu Valley .So finally on third day we bordered a twin otter plane from Katmandu to lukla airport now known as Tenjing – Hillary airport. It was my awesome experience in that plane, above deep gorges and valleys a long row of Himalayas could be seen Machapuchre, Dhaulagiri and some highest mountains I really don’t know the names of all those mountains. Finally the plane landed in lukla airport one of the most dangerous airport in world. Flight attended was really good to us. We had some hot drinks on the way. Thanking the hostess we got out of the airport.
One of the most interesting things about this airport is that when you come out of the airport you will not find a single motor transport I was really amazed. When you ask for taxi people will show you yaks or mule (breaded from combination of yak and horse or horse and donkey I am not quiet sure) but that’s the way mule are. Then we roam around stones paved streets to find a good hotel to spend night. It was chilling cold there. That was awesome, you could see sunlight in sky but down there it was quite shadow. sherpas native of these places were all round there and you could find the largest number of mountaineer from all over the world , every eyes were hunger for a sight of Mt. Everest , what a bingo combination of people I was thinking if all those peoples reached summit at once the Mt. Everest will also be like Manhattan , anyway our mission wasn’t to go to Everest neither I could think to go with this physical condition , by the way I am just little bit 50lbs overweight and little bit slow runner but I used to reserve my last position for running championship every year in my school . Ahhh finally after an hour of search we found a hotel room, where we could rest to be prepared for a long trekking from Lukla to Namche Bazaar, bazaar means market in Nepalese language .In hotel room we ordered a tea to get yourself hot, it was so funny it was my worst tea till date, it was a mixture of yak milk, hot water, butter and salt compare the tea that we take in city salt in place of sugar, AAHhhrr what a rotten taste it had. Finally with little soup that I think was awesome we slept at around five in evening then at around six in morning I woke up ohhh what a long waste of time but I really dint know it was sound sleep with couple of blankets in chilling cold , think of it what a heavenly experience . Horribly after checking out from hotel we ran back of others trekking groups heading towards Namche , In crowd of trekkers yaks and mules they were quite happy moments ,on the way I met a south American group attempting Everest , I know a little bit Portuguese so we had little chit chat , one of them was from brazil mountaineering club , I expressed my deep concern about the samba and reo de Janeiro carnival the he began to sing a famous song , oh what a experience it was , it was like to be in carnival only the difference was that in place of large gallery of people there were large mountains on both route and in place of costumed dancers and carnival queen there were yaks and sherpas .I didn’t know how that long foot trekking took place it took around 13 hrs to us to reach Namche, in songs of different people everyone didn’t knew how the passed on what a good dams moments those were , I dint know when the sun rise up in sky and did went down . Finally we reached Namche now we all had to spread out I took email ids of couple of friends to be in contact with them , and me and friend headed up towards our client office .
Although all the moments from Delhi to Ktm then in lukla were awesome but my best one is the samba parade , I live a life long dream to be in carnival of brazil. Opps its 2 am of night if my parent saw me waking up this late I am gonna get a kick , See you , my journey hasn’t ended yet I will continue writing about my more moments in Namche , I met a girl who
Neither can understand I nor I can, and the priest with a mug of local wine and says he was so devoted that he hadn’t taken a drop of wine. See ya on next part
Ok mom I am asleep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Journey continues…………….

How exciting that you with to a base camp for Everest! It’s a dream of mine to see that place in person. Wish I had such a generous Nepalese friend!
