VSCO 03 for Lightroom – Instagram Meets Your Non-Smartphone Camera

Even you didn’t know by now, I’m a strong advocate for the VSCO team and what they do behind that virtual screen of theirs. I was excited to see their newest line of film emulation presets released yesterday and couldn’t wait to pick up VSCO 03 for Lightroom.

For VSCO 03, they focused on imitation of instant films such as Polaroid and Fuji. As I had assumed, many of these presets are have very strong effects, so much so as to where I think it may be difficult implementing outside of personal work. Clients might like a few like this here and there, but I’d imagine this will find its way to your everyday photography and not the business side of things.

That being said, after sifting through this pack I’m pleased with it. They’ve included a whole new tool set to play with such as “Old Lens,” which I used in a couple of my images below. I was also excited to see them adding a specific set of tools for the fuji lineup of cameras and my x100.

Well, I won’t let my words distract too much from the point of this. Here’s my first set of images edited with VSCO 03 for Lightroom, and all the images our from old shoots. Unless you’re an avid follower of my work (and I sure hope you are), then you’ve probably never seen these before.
