Thank you for your interest in writing for Matador.
Matador is an interactive online travel magazine, which includes a network of eight content-specific blogs all interconnected through the Matador Travel Community.
The editorial team expects prospective contributors to be familiar with the style and format of each blog in the network.
In general, we are looking for writers who possess a unique voice and deep knowledge and experience of a place, either from having lived there or having spent considerable time there. All writers must have the ability to write articles that are both soulful and relevant to a diverse readership.
We publish four to six articles per day across the network.
Read The Following Before Submitting
1. Create Your Matador Profile - All prospective contributors must create a free profile in the Matador Travel community. Preference for accepted articles is given to writers who actively engage in the Matador community.
2. Familiarize yourself with the eight blogs that comprise the Network. - Read the blog overview here.
3. Avoid covering the same topics - Use the search box on the homepage of Matador to review the existing content on the Network. Unless you have an amazing new angle on a topic we’ve already examined, offer something fresh.
4. Publishing Rights - Read our full Publishing & Author’s Rights.
5. Payment - All authors receive $25 per article, payable via PayPal, upon publication. At present, this fee is non-negotiable.
