Nablus used to be known as “Little Damascus”, and the old quarter of the city has narrow alleyways, public fountains, historic palaces and mosques. Nearby Mount Jarzim is where the Samaritan community live – a misunderstood traditional Jewish sect that have co-existed with the Muslims of Nablus for centuries.
