I would never have thought to pack a scarf for my travels. Thank you for this advice, I am heading to Eastern Europe later this week and I will be bringing a scarf:)

I love my scarf and have purchased several in my travels. But just an FYI – I tried to wear use mine to cover up before going into a temple (Wat Pra Keaw in Bangkok) and they made me rent a shirt anyway.

when I went to Europe in May I didn’t pack a scarf- I don’t think I’ve ever felt that stupid. Ever.

Agree 100%. I never travel without at least two. Great for extra warmth in air conditioned environments. I’ve used mine as blankets on ferries, trains, planes and youth hostels so far!!

I absolutely agree. Entering Cambodia, I wondered why so many people had scarves in such a hot place. In retrospect, how foolish to have asked. I spent days coughing the dust away

I so agree with you! I’m 4 months into a 5 month trip, left with 2 scarves, now have 5. Possibly the most multi-purpose item in any travelers backpack.

I rarely go anywhere without a scarf <3 ! Good article I like the idea of using it as a bag, or for hiding a camera, I wouldn’t have thought of that!!
