Granted, the Mid-Atlantic states are currently buried under a least 3 feet of snow and most, if not, all flights have been canceled. However, this shouldn’t deter you from thinking about traveling. In fact, now is as good a time as any to start sketching out possible itineraries for the year and planing your getaway.
Looking for where to start? GlobeTrekker’s solid Year Book will stoke your wanderlust with month by month recommendations of where to go and what to see.
For offbeat travel itineraries and mind-blowing photo essays, head over to Matador Trips for suggestions on backcountry travels and treks that take you off the well-worn tourist paths.
The Matador team also recently rounded up its favorite destinations for 2010 – from Mongolia to Benin, and other far-flung places to explore. And if you’re into riding waves, check out the Top Surf Destinations for 2010.
