Capturing quick travel videos on the road has never been easier with mini camcorders and pocket-sized video cameras.

A sleek, lightweight alternative to the widely popular Flip Camcorder is the Kodak Zi6 High Definition Video Camera.

You can readily record high definition videos on its built-in 128 internal memory as well as on external memory cards – up to 32GB in size.

The video camera focuses up to 2 inches, giving you clear, crisp images, and recorded videos (captured in Quicktime MOV format) are downloaded to a computer via a built-in USB drive.

Cables are also included to connect to a High Definition TV (HDTV) so you can also view those travel videos on a wide, high resolution screen.

It uses rechargeable AA batteries, which (along with a charger) are included in the kit.

I recently bought a FLIP HD video camera for my travels through Europe. I knew when I purchased the camera that it would quickly become outdated, and I think I was right. I like that the memory in this Kodak camera can be upgraded – something my Flip can not do. But I imagine this is also a downside for some people because the Kodak requires you to buy an additional memory card, and thus, add on an additional expense. I'm not sure what the best solution is, but I think the FLIP cameras will soon come with the option of adding an SD card. I'd like to see a camera that comes with 4 GB of memory AND allows you to upgrade for even more recording, higher quality, etc.

The Kodak Zi6 HD Pocket Video Camera follows in the footsteps of the Flip series of small, pocketable video cameras. In many cases the Zi6 ups the ante in this area however. With a significantly larger LCD screen as compared to the Flip series, your eyes will be much happier. The resolution of the screen is great as is the brightness, except when viewed outdoors in bright sunlight.
