I have the Panasonic ZS3 compact zoom. It has similar specs to the one you mentioned. I can’t overstate how great is to have a camera that can zoom and is still compact. I never miss a shot now because I didn’t want lug a big DSLR.

As for the Leatherman tools, I’ve had to give so many away to the TSA folks over the years it makes me want to cry. But they are so handy I can’t keep from buying replacements.

@Leigh - I got this (minus the Dakar logo) a while ago from Montagne in Buenos Aires, and I've yet to find a better multitool. I've used it for everything from cooking to carpentry to clearing brush at campsites.
