To Gregory:
If that was truth, about the Yerba Mate, Argentina would have the highest cancer rate in the planet, since people there drink YM everyday, all the time...
Btw, Jason Mraz rocks!! :)

From one McAuley grad to another,

Congratulations on your success. I graduated with your sister and I saw the wonderful

things she had published in Ties. All the best to you. BTW you are so lucky to tour with

Jason Mraz - he is one of my favorites.

Best wishes,

Kelley Todd Stephens

Just so you know, it is wise only to consume Yerba Mate occasionally, and not on a daily basis.

Both cold and hot amounts of Yerba Mate contain a high PAHs (Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons) level, which are classified as carcinogens, which is a substance that causes cancer in humans and animals. When drunk on a regular basis, it could increases your risk of cancers of the mouth, head and neck, esophagus, bladder, larynx, kidney, and lung and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.

The risk is even higher when you drink it the traditional method. (Preparing in the gourd and drinking multiple cups from the same batch of leaves) Researchers have compared that drinking it regularly every day via the traditional way to smoking a pack of cigarettes a day.

Just because something is recognized and boasted for many positive effects doesn't mean it has a few hidden negative ones. Just so all of you are aware.
