I would also add that having a child is like traveling in that you never quite know where you'll end up next or what exactly you should expect when you get there! I actually waited to do my year of travel until I had a one-year-old. And boy did that teach me a lot about being an observer, slowing down, and adjusting my expectations of a new place.
