Based on the picture and its depiction of a lost era, I proceeded to download some tunes, and have liked Fela Kuti ever since. But what a strange connection of dots: From an unpublished picture for Vogue by the late British photographer Brian Duffy, to the internet, and now here on Matador. Something magical going on with him, that's for sure. A number of years ago I was looking through a book of old, unpublished fashion photos (“Unseen Vogue”), and saw this cool picture of a model posing with the band Koola Lobitos led by Fela Kuti. Based on the picture and its depiction of a lost era, I proceeded to download some tunes, and have liked Fela Kuti ever since.
