I love metal, and I live in BA...So, besides taxis...you should also try taking the 60 (a bus from Constitucion to Tigre) at rush time, with these playlist. :D

PD: also try to come to visit BA, when Iron Maiden or Megadeth or Ozzy are coming to play around here...that is an experience that you'll never forget.

Tom, it's a great playlist full of classics! The Buenos Aires story was fun, too. That feeling of sharing through music is awesome. I personally love to listen to In Flames while traveling, especially in Europe; it just feels right. Give me a Budweiser Budvar and « Episode 666 » (or « Artifacts of the Black Rain ») and you get one happy man.

Other great metal I like to listen to while walking on cobblestone streets: « Grand Illusion » by Nocturnal Rites; « Catharsis Instinct » by Dawnbringer; « Nightfall in Middle-Earth » by Blind Guardian and « Made of Flesh » by Fleshcrawl. Horns up!

Carlo, I have to agree with you that Dave has the best metal face out there. The new Megadeth album is some of the best material he's produced since 1992.

Also, Udo is awesome, but I think metal heart is a a better Accept song, in my opinion.

Ryan, what is the name of this bar you speak of on Khao Sahn road?

When I saw this article title I immediately thought to myself "I'm sure I'll have one or two to add to this one." I have to hand it to you, this list is right on! It's easy to get mixed up with two much of the layed back music so many travelers (myself included) try to relax with while on the road. Still, there's nothing like the wailing of Rob Halford or guitar-shredding of Kirk Hammet to pump you full of fire and breath new life into your travels.

Love the Argentina story! There is a metal bar in Bangkok on Khao Sahn road that I decided to check out (had to take a break from the Bob Marley and Jason Mraz) and I had a hell of a time thrashing around with some German metal heads. Certainly, the whisky helped but it was quite invigorating.

Hey Tom, I think an honorable mention is deserved for Accept - Balls to the Wall. Three main reasons: 1. Lead singer's name is Udo Dirkschneider. 2. In the video he rides a wrecking ball. 3. Chanting.

Nice. I've never considered myself a metal head but many of these songs are already on my playlist. Dave Mustaine has the coolest metal face around...and I would have to argue that Jason Newsted has one of the best guitar faces. Hmmm...sounds like an article on its own there...

Slayer and Megadeth are touring together looks like. They have a date here in Melbourne next month. Yeah, probably won't go.
