The Seattle dog! With onions and cream cheese--way more delicious than it sounds, especially when you're coming out of the bars at 2am...

I have that represent my feelings about this list regarding my home Chicago, and my adoptive home Buenos Aires Argentina. They are:

1. The greatest Hot Dog in the world, is not on this list...The Chicago Red Hot! With the perfect balance of spice, and twang, it is a must have for any top ten list of Hot Dogs.

2. Choripan is not really a Hot Dog, its a sausage sandwich. AndI dont think that picture does it justice at all. But I must say, that one advantage it has over a typical Chicago Red Hot, is that for the price (between 4 and 8 Pesos Argentinos or 1 - 2 US) you cant beat it.

I'm surprised not to see the Chicago hot dog on the list. My real favourite is a Montreal all-dressed steamé hotdog.

I'm 26 and “huge cream slathered wiener” also made me laugh.

And mad props to you, Eva... 12 and poking around on Matador? Pretty badass.

I'm a Canadian living in Hawai`i, and I have to say that Puka Dog is AWESOME! (Veggie, of course, though I hear the sausage is quite nice if you're a meat eater.)

"First of all Puka means Hole in Hawaiian….

With a special recipe we bake a bun-sized loaf of bread. We pierce a “puka” from one end and toast through most of the length of the bun. We then pour in any of our unique Hawaiian secret recipe relishes and sauces or standard condiments [including 4 different Garlic Lemon Secret Sauce and 7 Tropical Relishes]." - http://www.pukadog.com/

You get a ton of options for sauces, but my favourite is the veggie dog w/ mild original lemon garlic sauce, mango relish and lilikoi mustard. Yum!!

Good article, makes me want to try Japadogs
In México hot dogs are similar to the Chilean one's
Steamed bun + Wiener (bacon wrapped, or regular) + Zillions of toppings

Some toppings (beside the usual mayo, mustard, ketchup) include: crushed potato chips, avocado, diced tomato, onion, sauteed onion, chipotle chile, jalapeños, cheese, refried beans...
