I totally disagree with your stills selection- no being here or I'm with you.
those are the 2 best ones. I love them dearly, but the first time I saw them I was not impressed. I saw them at the Junos though and they did a fabulous job.
Also, as for metric, their new album is out, and stadium love is a fantastic song.
Great Band from Vancouver: The Heck. Amazing lyrics, guitarist=wow.

This is gonna sound totally snobby but isn't Metric a bit old? Don't get me wrong, I still listen to them and love them (especially the album Old World Underground, Where are you Now?) but they've been around for awhile. Anyways... I don't listen to a ton of indie anymore but other good Canadian artists include Wolf Parade, Apostle of Hustle and Gentleman Reg.

Oh yeah, and listen to Elliott Brood!!! The banjo has never made me feel that way before.

For a good afrobeat band from Ottawa, check out the Souljazz Orchestra

Shameless plug for a friend from Vancouver: Mary Ancheta - funky grooves, smooth smoky voice - she's toured on the Vans warped tour and has opened for several great bands:

Cool post! Since leaving Canada I've been out of the loop musically. Canada has pumped out so much good music in recent years - I'll be checking these out. Thanks!
