David Page talks guidebooks, the revolution of digital media, and wild bike rides in California.

THIS INTERVIEW went out on Central Coast Public Radio (Santa Barbara and beyond) recently. David Page, Matador editor at large and author of Yosemite & the Southern Sierra Nevada, spoke on all kinds of good stuff.

In addition to discussing his recent ride to Yosemite, David shares some insights on how guidebook writing: “When I approached it [the guidebook] I tried to infuse it with narratives of place so that as you’re traveling through the region you really have a broader sense of history and context. . . I feel like guidebooks ought to supplement your experience rather than try to live it for you.”

Please enjoy this quick interview with David Page.
