There’s one thing that’s always enriching about travel: the people you meet along the way. Craig Martin was lucky enough to be invited to a family Christmas in 2007…but it certainly wasn’t his family. In this podcast he shares some of the things he learned while experiencing a special event miles from home.

What a great podcast! Thanks so much for the advice and the interesting input on how to make yourself welcome in another country. I especially liked your descriptions on how to give thanks. I’ve done some similar faux paus when visiting with friends from abroad and I’ve also found that they are generally still open to me even when I mess up big time.

Thanks for that Kango. I’m constantly amazed at how well things can go when you have little idea of what you’re actually doing. The whole idea of being afraid of making mistakes is becoming anathema to me.

    Happy travels.
