7 of the Most Horrid Things Trump Has Said Regarding Latinos

Even though only 18% of Hispanics take Trump seriously as a presidential candidate, the The Donald has vowed that he “will win the Latino vote.” But if Trump actually wants to win the Latino vote, he might want to cut down on the offensive remarks regarding the population he needs to win over.

Here are 7 of the most absurd things Trump has said about Latinos:

1. He actually called Latino immigrants “criminals” and, just for good measure, “rapists.” But at least he assumes some are good people.

When he announced his candidacy for president, he started with a bang by comparing Mexican immigrants to “rapists”.

“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And, some, I assume, are good people.”

2. But at least he ‘provided evidence’ that Latino immigrants were, in fact, rapists.

When asked to provide evidence for his claim that Latino immigrants were rapists on CNN’s “The Situation Room,” Trump told host Don Lemon he got his facts from a Fusion article. When Lemon explained that the article actually said 80 percent of women and girls from Central America are raped by human smugglers, gang members, other migrants or government authorities while immigrating to the US — Trump shot back and suggested Latino immigrants were the ones doing the raping.

“Well, someone’s doing the raping, Don! I mean, somebody’s doing it. Who’s doing the raping? Who’s doing the raping?”

3. As if that was not enough, he decided to throw in that Mexicans were “killers,” too.

Trump was asked to clarify some comments on CNN’s “State of the Union.” Instead, he decided to call Mexicans “killers” as well.

“But you have people coming in, and I’m not saying just Mexicans, I’m talking about people that are from all over that are killers and rapists and they’re coming into this country.”

4. He claimed the Mexican government intentionally sends their criminals across the border.

In this interview with Fox News, Trump responded to his previous claims that Mexico was purposefully sending undocumented criminals over the border for the US to have to deal with.

“The Mexican government is much smarter, much sharper, much more cunning. And they send the bad ones over because they don’t want to pay for them. They don’t want to take care of them.”

5. He went so low as to provoke Jeb Bush over his Mexican-born wife.

Donald Trump retweeted (and then deleted) a post meant as a jab to other GOP candidate Jeb Bush.

It said, “#JebBush has to like the Mexican illegals because of his wife.”

6. He called his supporters “passionate” after hearing two guys beat a Hispanic man in his name.

Two brothers reportedly attacked a 58-year-old Hispanic homeless man in Boston, breaking his nose and pissing on him. They allegedly told police they targeted the man because of his ethnicity and said, “Donald Trump was right, all these illegals need to be deported.” After Trump was informed of the attack, he simply replied that his followers were “passionate.”

“I will say that people who are following me are very passionate. They love this country and want this country to be great again.”

7. He kicked award-winning Hispanic journalist Jorge Ramos out of a press conference and told him to “Go back to Univision.”

When Ramos attempted to ask Trump questions about his immigration stance in a press conference in Iowa, Trump refused to answer because he said Ramos had talked out of turn. As Ramos tried to finish his question, security and Trump told Ramos: “Go back to Univision.”
