I think the publishing industry will be all right in the U.S. I still enjoy purchasing books for many reasons...1) I'm a graphic designer so I appreciate the artistry of book covers and the illustrations within a book, 2) the Kindle is a great technological creation, but I prefer to turn the pages of a book, 3) when you hold a book in your hand such as Las Venas Abiertas, it produces a "feeling" within you that you may not receive from a Kindle, and 4) does the Kindle allow you to make notes? When I read a book, I sometimes make notes in the margin or on the side.

I haven't read Las Venas Abiertas (The Open Veins of Latin America), but I did recently finish reading We Say No, another book by Galeano. It's a fantastic orientation to 20th century Latin American history in a really accessible way.

I've also been told that I need to read this book. Chavez must be on to something. Now, if only Noam Chomsky was still alive...
