Cupcake Smackdown 3.0 combines cupcakes with barbeque, beer, and technology. Cupcakes and barbeque? It must be a Texas thing. A play on Angry Birds, the cupcake cannon launches cupcakes through the air. Austin Cake Ball, The Cupcake Bar, Hillcountry Cupcake, and Sugar Mama’s Bakeshop are scheduled to face off in a series of cupcake challenges to determine the winner of Cupcake Smackdown 3.0.

If cupcakes are not your thing, this party is being held at Austin’s latest craft brewery, Hops and Grain. 6 other breweries are sponsoring the event including one of my personal favorites, (512) Brewing and Independence Brewing.

Where: Hops and Grain Brewery 507 Calles St Austin, TX 78702
When: Saturday, June 4th, 2011
Time: 5 pm – 8 pm
Cost: Free entry but bring money for barbeque!
Proceeds benefit the Texas Craft Brewer’s Guild
