Well, duh. If you’re an aspiring travel photographer, I’m guessing the answer to that question is a big, loud YES!

HERE’S YOUR CHANCE: the World Nomads Travel Photography Scholarship 2008. The winner will receive gear, publication of their work, and a trip to the Australian Outback with a National Geographic photographer. Deadline to apply is June 30.

Feeling left out, writers? Don’t be. World Nomads has a scholarship for us too: up for grabs are a new laptop and an assignment to Sri Lanka with a reporter from the Sydney Morning Herald. The deadline is May 25 (that’s Sunday!) so get on it.

You must be a current student to be eligible.

Matador’s Bounty Board has all the details on both the writing and photography scholarships, as well as tons of other paid writing opportunities, for Matador publications and beyond.

How about a student of life?

I was all excited to enter and then you told me I wasn't eligible. Darn. I wanna go on assignment with NG.

Sorry, Kelsey. I guess it wouldn't have been a very punchy lead if I'd started with "Chances are, you won't be eligible for this, but read on anyway…" :D
