Longshot Magazine (formerly known as the 48 HR Magazine, though there were… legal problems) will put out their call for submissions at noon Pacific time on Friday 27th August.

The idea is that they produce a magazine in 48 hours. They release the theme, accept submissions for 24 hours, and then take the next 24 hours to edit and design a magazine based purely on contributor submissions. As well as an old-skool glossy paper mag, there will also be web and iPad versions.

Details after the jump.

In their words:

“We want submissions ranging from 140 characters to 4,000 words. Please send us your strongly reported narratives, design fictions, interviews, data visualizations, cartoons, family portraits, how-to guides, maps, obscure histories, recipes, war reporting, photo-essays, blueprints, ships’ logs, scientific papers, charticles, wood cuts, curio boxes, product reviews, and box scores.”

In other words, pretty much anything original that fits the theme.

Seems like a really cool project, and they’re going to pay all contributors too! You can get involved here.
