He has written for the Los Angeles Times Magazine, Men's Journal and The New York Times. He lives on the edge of one of the largest calderas on earth, in Mammoth Lakes, California, with his wife, his two boys, and an illegal migrant canine avatar of the Aztec god Xolotl.
