Matador Goes to Guantanamo!
After seeing the documentary, “Gitmo: The New Rules of War,” earlier this year, I applied for a press pass to visit the US military’s base in Guantanamo Bay.
After nearly 8 months of waiting, I learned last week that I’ve finally received clearance. The trip, an official media visit sanctioned and “hosted” by the military, is scheduled for October 20-23.
While I don’t expect to uncover any big news–the rules for the visit are pretty rigid, with all photo and video shot by reporters reviewed prior to their flight back to the US–I’m taking questions from members of the Matador community that you’d like answered about Guantanamo.
What do you want to know about life on the base? About the facilities? About the treatment of people being held at Guantanamo?
Please share your questions below!
And while you’re waiting for Matador’s reports from Guantanamo, check out the trailer for “Gitmo: The New Rules of War”:
