OurPlanet: Taking eco-lodges to a new level

Okay, okay – bad pun, I know. But I couldn’t resist.
OurPlanet Retreats is pioneering a new form of eco-friendly tourist accommodation – spherical lodges suspended in trees, with the first locations planned for Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, and the Philippines – and the twist is, anyone can become a shareholder.
Even if you’re not looking to get into the green tourism phenomenon on the business end of things, the site’s still worth taking a look at – those spheres are pretty darn cool!
Know of any innovative eco-tourism projects? What’s the strangest place you’ve ever slept while traveling? Let us know in the comments!
