This is from Burner Jeffrey Johnson:

I have arranged with GeoEye for a satellite image acquisition on September 2 at *precisely* 11:41 am. That is NOT!!! playa time … as in, not at 12:00, not 12:15, not “oh shit where is my watch”… at *precisely* at 11:41am. So if you want to send out a notice to any artists who want to do a project that is captured from *space* (as in not from the airplanes) they need to do it at *precisely* that time. I will get the imagery roughly 24 hours later and it will be posted soon thereafter.”

Hi i was there at 11:41 and i was wondering where we can go to look at the picture?

Seems the photo was captured Sept 1 and not the 2nd. Our camp made something for the 2nd. Ah well – still a great photo.

Here is the link and how to: http://google-latlong.blogspot.com/2010/09/hot-off-satellite-burning-man-2010.html

Where is the photo that was to be taken September 2nd at 11:41AM?
Many of us knew the time the picture would be taken and have made various human art pieces around the Playa and streets. The google earth photo was taken Wednesday. I would like to see my multi human creation in high res.

I just do not understand what in the he’ll is going on. JEFFREY JOHNSON is the one who claims to scheduled the shot for EXACTLY 11:41am on the 2nd!
All of the ” hot off the geo eye satellite” web sites I’ve located say the shot was taken on the first. But here’s the catch, one picture of the man, clearly shows a few hundred burners making a giant peace sign around it. On another website exact same date and time, there is no peace sign around the man.

So, someone needs to get ahold of JEFFREY and find out the real story. Did he &$@# up the date? Was there EVER a photo taken on the 2nd at all?
The TriBe spent hundreds on a gigantic tarp that we put our logo on…. Was it a complete waste of money and time?
