Whitewater Gran Prix paddlers get on one of the largest waves ever surfed
Whitewater Grand Prix – Stage One: Best Trick Contest from Tribe Rider on Vimeo.
I’ve been stoked off watching footage of this best trick contest event held at Gladiator wave on the Ottawa River, a feature that’s only in during peak flows. The video above gives a great visual and then there’s some extended coverage at Rapid Media that (if you can sit through the kind of cheesed-out intro) gives some really sweet river level soundbytes with these kayakers where stoke and and a true sense of respect for how the feature itself, the wave, the consequences of flailing, and just the “pair” it takes to get out there into the realm – is totally present.
