If one digs a hole put a small pot or cup in it cover and seal with plastic with a small pebble in the center of the plastic, water may condense on the underside of the plastic and drip into the cup or pot. A "Kyoto Box" might also be an alternative to a fire for cooking or a stove. They recently won an award using cardboard boxes, black paint and a cover to create enough heat in a pot to safely cook in (kill alot of bacteria). I think assembled off site might be an easy carry in. And of course, carry everything out. A small piece of clear plastic might be good too.
