When the team’s walk in the opening ceremonies, there are frequently coaches and representatives from the country, and some of the women you may remember from Salt Lake City may be those women.

There have been women in the summer Olympics before, but Marjan is the first to compete in the winter games.

Hi Kia,

Iran only sent two athletes to Salt Lake City, both of whom were men. There may have been a women walking with the team during the opening ceremony though (including Marjan Kalhor, there were two women who appeared with the team in yesterday’s ceremony too, and only Marjan is competing).

I remember seeing Iranian women in the winter olympics in Salt Lake city 2002, yes there was at least one woman there
