Last month, we wrote about “liquid mountaineering.” Now, we’re taking it to the next level with aquatic pogo-sticking.

Designed and built by an eponymous German company, the Aquaskipper is essentially that: a water-friendly pogo stick. The awkward-looking contraption uses a set of hydrofoils to allow riders to “hop” across the surface of lakes and ponds.

We probably won’t be seeing it used for transatlantic crossings anytime soon, but the Aquaskipper looks like a fun little toy. This instructional video is a good, though slightly funny, introduction to how the craft works:
