Question, Wife wants to hike down grand canyon, stay 2 nites at phantom ranch and hike back up Feb.2012 for 50th birthday. We are both in great shape and have alot of hiking experience. problem for me is the exposure to falling. We hiked kalalau in 07 and i nearly froze in place do to fear at around mile 7. Finished at the beach late that day and payed some one in a boat to carry us out the next day. Could not and would not go back the way we came because of heights and width of trail. How does this compare to Grand canyon. If you have hiked both please give me your thoughts at my email. Thanks
