Skate

Skateboarding is a vibrant part of youth and urban culture worldwide, and one of the greatest modern stories of how a sport evolved from a small group of people in a certain place and time (Southern California surfers, 1950s) and was spread via youth culture throughout the world.

Matador publishes articles about local crews of skaters pushing limits, the way that skateparks can create new cultural elements in unlikely places (Pakistan, for example), and how certain forms of skateboarding, particularly longboarding, can be used as unique methods of travel.
